Estonia’s foreign ministry has summoned the Russian ambassador over what it calls the abduction of an Estonian security official by "unidentified individuals from Russia" on the border. A ministry statement said the incident had taken place inside Estonia on Friday, near Luhamaa border checkpoint. The missing Estonian official works for the Estonian Internal Security Service. The foreign ministry called it "a very disturbing incident'. It comes amid heightened tension with Russia.

Russia claims that the official was within Russian borders. Estonia claims that the Russians came into Estonia and kidnapped the official.

If nothing else, this seems to be some dick-waving by Putin considering that Obama was just in Estonia to show solidarity with the former Soviet republic.

Estonia has been a member of NATO and the EU for about a decade, so this is a lot more bold by Putin than fricking with non-allied Georgia and Ukraine.

odds Obozo the clown actually would move to enforce article 5?

This is Putin pushing Barry around, considering they had a NATO meeting yesterday.

It's being claimed on Twitter that the Estonian official was a counter-intelligence officer.

Not exactly a crime of opportunity by the Russians, nor just some low-hanging fruit.

With today's abduction of an Estonian CI officer in a brazen & complex op, we know exactly how seriously Kremlin took Obama's Big Speech.
