Agreed. I could swear that Spielberg has no involvement with this show whatsoever and they're just going along with whatever thy think up. It's a show that has a great premise but just can't get over the hump needed for greatness. It's a very inconsistent shoes that occasionally shows flashes of brilliance.
Omg, I was screaming about this a few hours after I watched the finale, it's such a huge missed opportunity on the part of the lazy arse writers. Burnt face destroying his ships autopilot should've been something for Tom and Lexi to laugh at him for and say they'll just use the smaller ship to his face.
I suspect that they'll bring her back for the final season. No way they would just destroy a powerful weapon when next season has the premise of finally winning the war against the espheni. She'll be back.
I'm pissed this is true because I love stuff with a premise like this show has. It's a wasted opportunity for a premise of Human survivors insurgency against the aliens.

And then there's the trip to the moon. Lexi realizes she can't auto-pilot the big ship to crash into the power station so she sends Tom back to the small ship so he can... wait for it... use its auto-pilot to get back to Earth. Here's a crazy idea, how about set the auto-pilot of the small ship (the one with the possibly useless bombs) to crash into the power station while Lexi and daddy go home in the comfort and style of ol' Burned-face's personal ship. Hell, I bet if you looked hard enough you might even find a weapon or two so you could fire on the power station from space.

Tom sits there like a mute and watches his daughter die. His daughter who would be a stupidly powerful weapon against the enemy. His daughter who WANTS to be a stupidly powerful weapon against the enemy. And he just sits there with his thumb up his arse.

It's the little things, the lazy writing things that keep a show from fulfilling its potential.

I was kind of wondering if the woman/alien that Tom saw at the end (or maybe it was the previews for next season) and said something like you are beautiful, was actually Lexi reborn or some goofy crap.
