I'd get it from time to time throughout my baseball career. Nothing major at all though. And only once in a game. It would mostly happen throwing "flat grounds" right after stretching it out to 200+ feet. Get used to throwing bombs with a high trajectory then immediately have to throw to a guy squatting down at 30 feet. All the while your arm is live as shite and you don't wanna kill your friend who's dreading catching you.

The time I got it in a game was my first start in Burlington. Walked the bases loaded on 12 pitches, have up a triple, and was yanked. Swear on everything I love it felt like there was a force field in the strike zone. Like the ball and strike zone were the same poles of a magnet and when the ball reached the plate it refused to hit the catcher's mitt. I was all kindsa fricked up.

It happens now from time to time playing darts too. Out of nowhere it's like I can't hit the number I'm going for to save my life. It's just thinking too much. Lasts a few throws then it's gone.

It's amazing what the mind can do. It's not bullshite that "the game is, insert percentage, mental."

I have a good friend that gets the yips throwing BP. Out of nowhere he goes from throwing lasers to skipping balls 20 ft in front of home plate. Weird.

Rick Ankiel had them bad as a P. At one time he was a helluva closer but all of a sudden he literally couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Fortunately for him he was such a great athlete he was able to transition to outfield in the bigs and did pretty well.
