Anyone have any insight on which is the best bet?

I would say Roku since you can get beIN through DishWorld Sports.
Unless Apple TV has DishWorld as well?

I would say a Roku, as well. I'm not sure about NBC Sports Live Extra, but I use mine a lot for BeIN Sports through DishWorld and ESPN.

Roku does not have NBC Sports.
I prefer Apple TV over roku especially if you have an iphone or ipad you can stream straight to the tv.

For overall use its Roku hands down. I would get a Roku and a $35 chromecast and call it a day. Between those 2 you'll get everything you need.
GOL just signed a deal with KlowdTV which has Chromecast connection so if you like German, Argentinian, and Mexican leagues that would be an option to.
