What were Wisconsin's first half drives? The second quarter was a push after the fumble gave Wisonsin a short field for a TD. I'm not one to play the ifs/buts game, but there's no telling how the game would have played out if it hadn't happened. That being said, I'll give wisconsin dominating the first quarter, the first 5 minutes or so of the second, and the first 5 minutes if the 3rd.

So the defense doesn't get any credit for being in a position to cause/recover the fumble? And I'm not sure how an LSU fumble and resulting UW TD makes that quarter a push. Again, it's not just me saying this. It's all over the articles about the game, and anyone who watched it (and is not attached to either team) would agree with me.

Also, discounting the fumble would be like me discounting the fake punt in the middle of the third...but that doesn't make sense because it's a team making a play.

UWs first half drives. It's not pasting correctly, but they're here.

I said it was a push after the fumble and TD. I wasn't actually taking the fumble out of the equation. But to say they dominated the first half is disingenuous. Most of the second quarter was a push, with neither team able to really do anything.

It's just my opinion that had Wisconsin dominated the second quarter, the lead should have been larger than 10. The LSU defense started coming around in the second quarter, but people over look that because Wisconsin had the big drive to start the third.

Wisconsin won the first quarter, and the first five minutes of the second and third. 25 minutes, or roughly 1.66 quarters. LSU won the last 10 Mounties of the third quarter, and all of the fourth. 25 minutes, roughly 1.66 quarters. The last two-thirds or so of the second quarter were a push.

This argument is silly. Wisconsin dominated for over two quarters. I could argue less by parsing more and saying, if you take away the six seconds that Gordon took to run down the field on this play and the eight seconds on that play, etc., then really Wisconsin only dominated for about 54 seconds. Really Chitown, you guys got your arse kicked for 59 minutes and 6 seconds.

About six minutes into the fourth quarter we were lining up to punt, down 24 to 7. That's domination by Wisconsin up to that point. If the game had ended right there, everyone in America would be saying LSU was dominated.
