i have a vip722 and there's simply an antenna screw.

all you do is screw on antenna and his 'scan' and you're done.

i don't konw nothing 'bout no hopper and i ain't ponying up another $10/mo to try it out.

Pic of my Directv guide with AM21 hooked up. Sat channels are white & OTA channels are blue.

I upgraded from a 722 to the Hopper for no charge & no additional monthly fee? The additional features are like night & day.
