This is probably a topic for another thread but I HIGHLY doubt you have all of the story. Customs isn't going to keep African game taken legally. Not a fricking chance. Your buddy isn't telling you the whole story.

I had a customer that had a whole Safari worth of animals in their house. They go all the time. Mounted Lion Head, Zebra Pelts, crazy. I had never seen so much.
So you can most definitely bring trophies back, or you could. Maybe the laws just changed.
