I completely agree with you. He did have his moments where I was astonished at how he would just stop playing when things went badly. I think being in Italy is toxic for Balotelli. He reminds me a lot of Wayne Rooney in his relationship with the supporters there. They love him when he's good, and when things go wrong, he's the man to blame. Not saying it's not unwarranted, but Italy's exit being blamed on him alone was a bit much. They did have a case to be upset with him, but it's still not ever going to help a player when they blame him on a team of 23 for the exit.

To be fair to him, it was never going to be what he always dreamed of. He finally goes to his boyhood club, and Berlusconi decides to turn on his racism. I know that shite flies a bit in Italy, but it's still something that weighs on a person. I like him better in England just because I think his style fits the English game better. Plus, I think he needs an old style English father type. I know everyone has tried, but I'm not ready to give up on him turning the corner yet. He is still only 24.
