Because you are using South Carolina's preseason ranking to make your determination that a&m is a playoff team.

USCe is a top 15 program, so no I didn't base that on preseason rankings alone.

It's pretty easy to determine when a team is playing athletes or scrubs. West Virginia has sucked arse for 18 of the past 20 years, so Bama does not get the same support for winning ugly against them than a&m does versus beating a good program handily on the road.

USCe could turn out to be a 3-9 team and it would not change my opinion of a&m at the moment…they gained more yards than at any point in the Johnny Manziel era. and their D looked better than they did all of last year even against the scrubs..hell Rice moved the ball effectively on them last year.

There's really no excuse for how rigid the rankings are in regards to the preseason.

They should be much more fluid and reflect when a team is having a hot streak or not panning out.

A&M, Georgia, and 4th qtr LSU looked like a top 10 team.

Bama looked nowhere near # 2

Number 10 maybe.

Being a top 15 program doesn't necessarily mean you have a top 15 team. South Carolina's team is not top 15 this year. Their defense has too many holes that haven't been filled with the necessary talent. A&M looked really good against South Carolina, but I didn't see any attempt by South Carolina to try and take away any quick passes by locking down on receivers. A&M's QB did not have to look past his primary target on most plays, a luxury he won't have against teams with more talent in the defensive backfield. South Carolina's defense was so bad that their offense had zero tolerance for mistakes against A&M. I don't see that changing against the better teams South Carolina will have to play.
