One thing I noticed Saturday while watching Welter

He was pushed around a lot, almost always blocked, and still holding on to the RB as he was dragged down field. I hate to bring this up, because I love LSU and don't want to bash a player after such a great win, but he needs to be 2nd string. It is what is best for LSU that matters.
I also noticed in the second half. Welter did not play as much. Maybe the coaches also noticed. I had hoped all the hype out of the Spring and how the Chief said he was the most improved player would be realistic, but it simply was not.
Yes, I know, Debbie Downer, but if he is the starting LB during SEC play, this team will suffer.

He was much better in the second half. Attacked more than reacted.

Problem is no one has taken the job from him. Beckwith didn't exactly shine when he had his turn.

Ross Dellinger film study agrees. See comments on Welter.

If the coaches cant find someone to "line us up" for 2 years in a row other than Welter than this mess goes on them IMO. You moved Beckwith back to MLB likely specifically to take over for Welter, now teach him how to line us up and let him play.

Welter is below average IMO, Beckwith needs more reps is also my opinion, but a reasonable person can see that it may just be 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

The real question is does Garrett get in this Saturday to get some real game experience to see what he can do....

Hey all of you Welter haters, here's a solution for your agony. Join the march to have Chief fired for playing him and hurting your feelings so much.
So do it!!
Get Chief's incompetent butt fired!
And then you won't have to waste your very valuable time lynching an LSU football player.

I'm not saying last year they should have played someone else, but if it goes a full 2 years in a row where we have to endure him getting blocked out of 75% of plays and when he does make tackles it well beyond the LOS and gets drug for more yards then this goes squarely on the coaching staff. How can we not have a better option 2 years in a row over him?
Beckwith is brand new to the position but is physically ready, it's up to the coaches to get him out there and get reps as well as teach him to line us up and make the proper adjustments. The MLB position cant just be used for any player to simply line us up then get taken out of most plays. It is VERY important because we do NOT have dominant DTs anymore and the MLB has to be very active. The coaches need to really figure something out before SEC play starts up. Whether it's get Beckwith a lot more reps or even try sliding over Alexander to MLB they need to figure this shite out.

People like you are the worst on the rant. "No player can ever do any wrong, they are all awesome!"
Sorry, some players arent that great, and criticizing a player's performance on the field is 100% allowable. Deal with it.

Answer a question. Is it possible that we don't have the personnel to be dominant at EVERY position. Every team in America has a weakness, ours right now is DT.

quote:It IS figured out. There is no magic juju. We beat a good Wisconsin team, and we forced them into being one dimensional, with exceptional defenders and a great scheme the second half, this is what football looks like
they need to figure this shite out.

Some players aren't great but never played posters who gang up on a player because it makes them feel good are better?
Deal with the fact that most of you have no clue and are only posting shite that your heard some one what knows as little as you do said is pretty damn stupid and juvenile.
But if it takes posting the same old crap about an LSU player makes you feel macho, do what you have to do.
But if you were the man you pretend to be, take action. Go to Chef and tell him he is wrong and you know more.
Call into the Miles radio program and tell him to fire Chief because you disagree with his personnel decisions.
None of you will because you are cowards.
Deal with the reality of that.

Welter is LSU's leading "ALMOST TACKLER". Always shows up late and gets blocked constantly. He is no where big enough to play LB for Div.1 school
