Is on People, Hell, and Angels.
Or is it...
Jimi Hendrix: Blues
Whatever version you prefer, realize it was something he held close, and never released officially.
But to me, it's his jam.

Band of Gypsies. That rhythm section is so heavy.

It is his jam. I support every version I've heard of it. Ever. Luther Dickinson does a mighty fine version too.
Hear My Train a Comin' is a top 3 song for me.

When I hear it, it always sounds like the song he was trying to make perfect.
Like he was never happy with it.
Red House is special, and is a favorite of mine. But it almost seems like something he thought up one day while everyone was hungover and sleeping on the chitlins circuit. Almost a frick you to those guys who were headlining.
Hear My Train a Comin' sounds like something that he wanted to be known for, like this IS what defines me as a blues guy. The other stuff puts me into a box, but here's where I really shine.
He was playing this song at 24, as best I can see. The earliest recording I've heard is the BBC sessions of '67.
24, guys, think about that.
He was 24. At that point the music was driving him. He was unleashed.
At 24 I was in a band pounding out power chords.
The older I get I'm amazed at his understanding of things, especially considering he picked up a guitar at 13.
10 years later he's completely changing everything.
Like he was never happy with it.

I do believe he really wanted to get back to whatever town he was speaking of, buy it, and put it all in his frickin' shoe... and, like he said, might even give a piece to "you".
Some Lil scally devil, somewhere out there, broke this dudes pride. Some guys cry about shite like that, some dudes pick up their true mistress and let the fury out via nar-arse guitar play.
Hendrix died too soon I know that much.
