I'm wouldn't let my grown wife shoot a semi auto gun with more than one round in the magazine unless I'm 100% sure she can handle the recoil and is comfortable with the gun (as in she has shot the gun before).

I personally wouldn't just pick up an Uzi and hold down the trigger. I'm going to stick a round in it to get a feel for it. Then I'll add a few to get a short burst. Then if I feel comfortable, I'm going to let it rip.

I don't know what the experience level was before this happened so I won't judge. It's a terrible accident and I feel horrible for that girl.
