A FPE load center is near the top of the list of red flags on a home inspector's list. It is right below knob & tube wiring.
If I were you, I'd bite the bullet and change out the panel. Regardless of the inherent safety or non-safety of FPE products or knob & tube wiring or non-grounded wiring systems, the perception out there is that it is bad and fewer and fewer insurance companies are willing to insure homes with those problems.
If you don't want to do it yourself, you should make an allowance for the potential buyer to do it.
