Would you recommend to just get a worthwhile degree and not do film?
Networking and skill is the key to success in the film industry, not degrees or GPAs. I am also of the opinion that someone has to truly have a passion for their craft if they want to work in film. If you don't love what you're doing, you'll never be an AD, key anything, etc.
