8 teams. 8 still keeps the regular season meaningful.

Seed the teams. The quarter and semifinals are played at the better seed's stadium. Three rounds would really hurt attendance if they were all at neutral sites. It'll be really interesting to see how the semis are attended this season.

Letting the better seeds play at home the first two rounds saves the attendance issue. It also awards teams for finishing 1,2. (Regular season emphasis)

Then bid for/rotate the championship game at a bowl site.

4 teams, using the former BCS standings to determine the teams.

I wish a computer could decide who is #1. Less games, less controversy.

Four teams. Move the season up a week. No. 1 seed and No. 2 seeds (using the BCS formula) host the semis the immediate week after the conference championship week (so the current conf champ week, since the season is moved up a week). Bowl selections are then made after that in the same way as the old BCS system, with the losers of the semis still participating in a bowl game and the winners obviously in the NCG.

It'd be great. It'd keep the regular season very meaningful (and put a premium on being one of the top two seeds), eliminate virtually all controversy and also still do well to not make the bowls an afterthought and keep them traditional.

No playoff. No national champion.

Everyone plays their schedule and the season is over.

There are too many teams for a playoff to be in any way, shape, or form fair and representative, unless you want the playoff to last about 6 months.

I don't know how you could be against a playoff in any sport. It matches the best teams against each other to determine who is the best.

8 Teams is the best set up. In a 4 team playoff teams 5 and 6 may have a legitimate beef. In 8 team system, teams 9 and 10 can jump in a lake.

It allows shite like the last Giants' Super Bowl win. It gives a second-chance to underperforming teams. It rewards failure.

And most of those teams have taken themselves out of the conversation with losses.

It's kind of shocking you would rather the current system.
