If LSU plays in the National Championship Game this year, it will mean that at least one player from every recruiting class since 1998 has played in a National Championship Game for LSU. Chad Lavalais was in the class of 1998.(Was also in other signing classes.)

Played and being on the team that goes are a little different. Also, players that only played from 2008-2010 did not play for a team in a national title:
Patrick Peterson
Or players drafted in 2003 or before:
Dominick Davis
Bradie James
LaBrandon Toefield
Josh Reed
Rohan Davey
Jarvis Green
There's a lot of gaps...but I like the positivity.

Donnie Jones was in the 1999 class. We can at least go that far back. There are plenty of players from the 2008-2011 class that played in the 2011 National Championship Game, but did not win it. LINK

Patrick Peterson is the only one in that span who didn't.
Which is pretty crazy when you think about it

he said at least ONE, not sure whyou you are debating that. Lavalais played a lot in the 2003 NC game.
Another way of saying the same thing is 1997 was the last LSU recruiting class where nobody played in a NC game.

You delay grammar corrected the OP? First time I have seen that. You know what he meant to type and posted a non-sense response, therefore, reading comp, bro.

*least* FIFY.
You make a good point though. Any player who signed under Saban or Miles and has finished out their eligibility has been a part of a team that played for the NC. That's a Tom Izzo type of streak and one that I would like to see continue!

Honestly...i misread it altogether. So that's what i get for reading it so early in the AM

Isn't there a streak for LSU baseball recruiting classes in regards to playing in Omaha going back to the late 1980's?

Just looked it up. Starting with the recruiting class of 1982, every baseball player who stayed four years has been to Omaha at least once. The recruiting classes of 1987-1999 also won at least one national championship.
