I have 2 15" JBL powered speakers. They have 2 XLR and 2 1/4" inputs in the rear. Typically what I do is have a standard 1/8" to 1/4" adapter and run the 1/4" splitter for stereo input directly into the speakers. Those adapters are terribly made and I've gone through at least 4-5 of them over the last 2 years.
I understand I'll have to basically do the same thing with whatever option I choose but at least they won't be moved around a bunch which is the main cause of the broken adapters.
I connect the 2nd speaker via XLR which will stay the same. I have a 50' cable that I can wrap around hte backside of our blow up tent.
As for the power, it really doesn't matter. The speakers have to be plugged in anyway so I could just run it into the same power source.
