In regards to poverty, something more than just relying on the free market to pull people out of poverty, which history shows does not work. There will always be poverty in a capitalistic society. There should be programs available for those in poverty to meet their basic human needs.

In regards to racism, there isn't a thing the government can do about it. There will always be racism.

Poverty...maybe not. Relative levels of affluence in regard to productive competition...for sure.

High tech will inevitably make the 'production of goods and services' (I.e., jobs) economically irrelevant. I suspect (per the book "Abundance") that most everything will be 'made'/atomically manipulated out of the basic Matter/Energy reservoir. As such, there will be no need for work, or jobs...and any economy will have to be based on some other impetus. I have no idea what!

Fascinating time to be sucking air.

There will always be poverty in any society if the definition of poverty is constantly being changed.

Two things--what more than the trillions we throw at poverty now could possibly work? Second---give me a single example of the free market failing to advance a society in economic terms and an example in history of free markets failing to "pull people out of poverty."

Nothing is more moral or more poverty fighting that free markets.

What we have now with democrats and republicans using government to help their favorites is not free market. Look at democrats and how they have enriched health insurance companies and republicans and how they distorted oil markets.
