I'll be simple.
Would darker skin, dark eyes and less hair create an advantage for those living in extreme amounts of sunlight?
Would light skin, light eyes create an advantage for those living where the sun is significantly less prevalent?

The Equator covers the entire planet? Wouldn't that have produced similar results throughout? It seems to have fallen hard on Africa.
