It is hot as hell to be running dogs in this heat. I didn't even think pen birds opened till mid October.
Wear orange, dove loads, pick up a cheap orange hunting vest for your shells and birds.

Pen raised quail = box cars
wild quail = ferraris
I can't imagine ya'll are doing anything but a kicknshoot in early september....
not much dog work in 90degree temps in an upland setting...
heck I had to CARRY a GSP back to truck after an early october FT... which he won..
