i understand that sentiment but they kinda have consumers by the balls in BR.

Would people rather wait 45 minutes for a cab (that may never show up) and pay $15? Or would they rather pay $20-$25 and wait 10 minutes for Uber. Not to mention you know exactly when the car is going to be there and plan around it (i.e. close your tab out and enjoy the rest of your drink inside instead of sitting on the curb for what seems like forever).

To me people are going to choose uber every time, even if they are being slightly taken advantage of in price.

Knowing part of the way this company operates, I'd imagine that surge pricing is based completely on a computer model/algorithm of supply and demand and not necessarily one guy flipping a switch in a computer room because the LSU game is about to end. Literally, if xxx number of drivers are out and yyy number are requesting rides, surge pricing is applied until the numbers revert back to normal. (Don't quote me on this)
