Without in the least trying to take away from your hard work and your sister's hard work, kudos to your parents and the home you two were raised in. That's very impressive. They must be very proud.
Thanks LA.
Seriously though, I've always considered myself extremely lucky. Two parents who made no compromises when it came to education. They deserve more credit than I do imo. No lie, growing up my parents convinced my sister and I that B's stood for "bad" Only A's were acceptable.
Like I've said many times on this board, education would solve many of the problems facing the black community today. Its that important.

quote:Amen to all that, and not just for the black community. It would solve America's ills across the board. I'm two generations removed from semi-literate farmers in Appalachia. Besides a roof over my head and food on the table, my parents gave me two indispensable things: An example of a good work ethic and a belief that you can do anything in America if you get an education. Whatever I have managed to accomplish in life, I owe in large part to them.

I'd like to give your parents a hug. I wish America had more like them.
