I have a family member who works for Cabelas. He gets pissed off every time we talk about their miserable saltwater fishing section and the management's inability or unwillingness to improve it.
But he heaps a lot of praise on the company's stance on standing behind their products. He said he is amazed at the things that they will take back on exchanges and give refunds for with no questions asked. He said especially so on the Cabela's brand products more than anything else.

I've noticed a lot of products that were previously "Cabela's" brand are now marketed under "Herter's." Anyone know if this is just a new Cabelas's brand (like redhead for bps, etc...) or is this herters actually selling their own stuff under their own name? I'll put it to you this way, I patched a 2" hole in the boot with some sort of "seal it", it totally looked like shite and they exchanged them because of a leak they developed elsewhere.
