auburn is still at least fourth down on the list..
alabama, ole miss, arkansas (altho they stink they are part of the boot trophy and always play us tough)
shoot it almost seems like UF is even more of a rivalry than auburn and they are in the east..
but yes i am aware of the horrific auburn officiating and the close games.. in the earlier 2000s.. still find them down the list.. all these schools are rivalries..

and the loss of all those talented defensive players to the NFL in recent years has to show up at some point.

Well you took some liberties with the thread title. Auburn and LSU has always been a rivalry game of sorts. The article is about Auburn having had little success against LSU recently.

Cigar game 99, extra point debacle 04, ref gate 06, chop block 07, Scam newton 10, Tommy fricking Tuberville...
I'll tell you this much... they're a lot higher than 4th on my list.

Very underrated rivalry. Some awesome games during that time. Throw 08 into that as well.

That's actually funny, now that you say it. I'm not... I was there when we lost every away game, and won every home game, in the early 2000s... (I was also there well before that....
just seems like we have been overlooking them as of late because... well, we're kicking their wannabe a**es... And if you ask them, Bama is always THE rivalry. But now Bama is now focused on Auburn, not LSU (Davis' field goal run back might be may 2nd favorite play of last year, after Jarvis Landry's eff-you to ArKANsas); Auburn is focused on LSU, because they still can't beat us. And, to complete the circle of life, we still hate Alabama.

Before SEC expansion when we rarely, if ever, played them. The Auburn rivalry is great, but it is fairly new by CFB standards. It started in the 90s. Before 1992, LSU and Auburn had only played 26 times in history, and only 6 times in the previous 20 years.

LSU "Rivalries":
Tulane, Alabama, Ole Miss, now Auburn?
Arkansas "was" a rival, now they're trying to force A&M on us as a rival.
Too many "rivals".

U damn right I hate Auburn almost as much as the Gumps. That's why I always say the only good thing in that whole damn state is Gulf Shores.
