She is doing this because the kids he goes to school with, one of them does drugs. And he's "friends" with that kid. Yes it's just weed, but we would rather him not do it or be involved.

tell him about the app and be upfront that he's being monitored for his own good. If you are worried about him doing drugs surprise him with a piss test. Over the counter costs 17$ and are fairly accurate. I wouldn't want my young kids doing drugs either. Gotta have some faith you did him right. He is your kid, show him some trust and respect until he doesn't deserve it.
