I think 128gb is going to be fine, but if he uses only 100gb you can get him a 256 and not even worry about the 1tb

Well, he will already have the 1tb because he bought the dell I linked, so 128gb would be fine. The 256gb can be had so cheaply though that it's a better value/GB. But not 100% necessary.
