This thread is illuminating and like the article...just like LSUinNW pointed out...

the term "craft brew" just isn't used in the North West and California...and maybe other parts in the Upper Midwest.

Craft brew is so 1990's to us.

The beer revolution happened a long time ago in the Northwest...

Oregon is the world's producer of hops.

Cali, Oregon and Washington...started the small brewery revolution in the mid-80's - mid 90's.

And as the previous poster pointed out - not drinking the majors...Bud, Coors, etc...has been the norm for 20 years.

The Northwest is like Europe...every town has their own local brewery...from homebrew revolution to craft brew to successful brew...

The beer revolution in the NW gave America actual choices and new avenues.

It's not fancy...it's normal (going back to the founding fathers - people brewing for their town) and it's been the norm in the NW.

People in the NW and Cali - love IPA's and high abv Stouts...and Belgian beers, etc.

Tastes evolved...no one wants that watered down...mass produced shite anymore. Beer used to be so much better in America 100 years ago...and that's what the beer revolution re-created.

In fact, America leads the world now...thanks to small business and forward-thinking people - we eclipse Germany...

In hop production, beer companies, beer production, beer awards in competitions.

America is the leader in Beer in the world.

Thanks to the Northwest...and the craft revolution in the early 90's.

Before that...the rest of the world thought our beer sucked arse. Coors and Bud.

We were lazy. The beer revolution is one of the greatest movements and small business successes America has ever had.

Oregon dominates Germany in competition. Washington dominates Belgium.

We are the most unique and creative and forward-thinking nation on the planet now with regard to beer...thanks to San Fransisco, Oregon and Washington.

That's a fact. The world - before NAPA Valley - thought US wine was for shite.

The world before San Francisco, Oregon and Washington - thought US beer was for shite.

Now we are the leaders in both. Ingenuity, creativity, boldness, new flavors, high alc content...

America is the world's leader in beer...

And it ain't craft...Budweiser wants you to label it as craft.

This shite is mainstream...all over the westcoast and northwest.

The Northwest and West Coast should be celebrated and not "Merica - I'm at a ballgame Bud."

It's literally the most surprising turnaround...in America being awesome.

And the world is has been shocked for the last 20 years. That we produce better beer than Germany and England.

The NW is the epicenter of American ingenuity and awesomeness.

Why this doesn't get more coverage is Anheuser Busch...subversiveness.

But the rest of the world knows due to losing in competition after competition

Baseball game...or whatnot...America - every state should be proud.

Budweiser doesn't care what you label it. They are too busy satisfying the tastebuds of people everywhere..and counting their STACKS of cash.
