Note: I will probably end up living and working the the rural parts of Louisiana so I think I would be far enough away from the blasts to survive the initial strikes, but the fall out would probably kill me.

If you survive fallout the real question then is will the nuclear winter kill you eventually anyway? Fallout might be preferable to slow starvation. You'll probably want about 25 years worth of food stored to have a decent shot of making it through.

than again, between baton rouge and new orleans are all of the chemical plants that may be a target of some of the small nukes.

The way some of those places are run I'm surprised they don't all just go up in flames all by themselves.

And some mineshafts plus a female/male ratio of ~10-1. We could quickly rebuild and there would only be a mild nostalgia about the old days.

Will the EBT cards work after a nuclear attack?
Starvation would be a slow painful death.

I'm, pretty safe in East Tennessee. Atlanta and Charlotte would be the most appealing targets closest to me. The prevailing wind would take the radiation cloud away. Hope Putin uses a neutron bomb so I can have my pick of the fancy cars and loot left by you inner city folks.

yeah probably.

People along bayou lafourche would probably be safe from the fall out and initial blast. But they would probably die in the nuclear winter after the blasts.
