I rebuilt mine a couple years ago. I bought new battery's from LINK . I upgraded from NiCad to NiMH. It was easy. All you need is a soldering iron. I also bought a new battery charger that charges faster. Website has all the info you need.

dumb question..but can you buy an aftermarket 20v LION that will work with an 18v NICAD dewalt drill?
i mean..is the juice a function of the battery or electronics in the drill itself?
