If you do the downdraft you also have to install vent pipe. Would probably be a 4" pipe. Don't get one with a ton of BTUs if you don't have the proper ventilation either.

I already have one with my current cooktop. I thought about putting in a really nice hood (see below), but it would be a pain in the arse, and I have to take out my overhead pot holder which is pretty aesthetically pleasing.
