I had to turn down my last shot at an AJ trip this year to bring presents back from my wife's baby shower .

As far as sickness, I've just always never thought about it and done fine. Never taken anything before. Only time being sick was on a supply boat going offshore right after graduating. Legit 10'+ seas sitting inside the boat did it. But as long ad I sat down, I was fine. After a few hours, I got used to it.

I would laugh at my wife if she tried to pull this.

As others have said, bonine is a life saver. No reason not to take it.
