The base of the goal is further back in the NBA than it was here, no need to change it. This was a freak injury and an unfortunate one but the NBA doesn't need to fix their goals. Cameramen being as close as they are is ridiculous though but I doubt they do anything about it.

This is a college arena but I thought the basket stanchions are pretty universal

Most arenas are, but there are a couple such as Miami where the padding is pretty damn close. Closer than the other arenas
