The SEC network is going to be a gump love fest.

Back several years ago in the Spurrier - Meyer date range and UF ruled the roost and Bama was in the shite cellar who did you complain about. Everybody was sick and tired of hearing about the Gators. Bottom line - if you win you get the lions share of the attention.

I was afraid of that since ESPN is a partner and Slive has no balls. Having watched a lot of the Big Ten Network up here I can tell that it is balanced in that the teams that are winning or making news get the appropriate amount of attention. On their nightly news show and their preview and post-game shows the most attention is paid to the games that are the most meaningful.

You only get UM and Ohio State lovefests when it's warranted and if Michigan State is playing Wisconsin and it happens to be the best game of the week it gets that type of attention and Michigan playing Indiana and Ohio State playing Illinois gets the back burner that it deserves that week.

I think the BTN goes out of its way to be balanced. The conference office plays a big role in the network and Fox which is the partner takes a back seat. I'm afraid the SECN will be nothing but a what's best for ESPN network.

Exactly. You would have heard hardly anything 10 years ago. In the 90s, it would have been all UT and Florida. Win and you get attention. Not that hard to figure out. And the network hasn't even launched yet. Some people here just worry about Bama too much.

But wouldn't the publicity somehow keep them on top until the coach dies? As I said a few times before, the most talked about team, Bama, gets a free recruiting boost when those young guys keep seeing them more. If the NCAA is all about parity, then where is it here?
