I keep 1k in small denominations. That is my oh shite money. I dont spend it. It is in case power goes out for days or a hurricane wrecks shop.
I had a buddy that claims he got audited and the irs froze all of his shite for several days. I can sustain my family for several weeks with 1k if necessary.
