Scout has more of the big homers and realist clashes....a lot of stone throwing goes on there and traffic has taken a nose dive since BB left.

Buckyville tends to be heavy on actual alumni and the users tend to be the older crowed.

Some of those guys have me so far thrown off after reading the SEC rant. Bayou goes in there and lists 10 reasons why LSU will win and some of the UW posters agree with 7 of the points and mildly debate the other 3

Sconnies are pretty non-confrontational until it is time for fists to fly. They do less talking than southerners, for sure.

Some would call it passive aggressive. They would call it "etiquette."

Judging from the scene on the ground they are, in a word, confident.

It's more a pop culture reference. I wouldn't say it is an 'everyday' occurrence.

It pretty much boils down to the "Sconnie-Coastie" divide. It's oddly fascinating.

Wisconsin, as some of you may know, is a very large university (42,000+ students).

It attracts students from all over the country, most notably Wisconsin and the coasts (whether it be California, New York, or "Chicago").

Students from the latter are referred to as "Coasties." Again, it is not a common thread, but just a pop culture reference. A lot of stereotypes come with it.

On the other end, there are "Sconnies," which are typically reserved for those from Wisconsin. Again, stereotypes come with it.

It's a weird divide, though it is obviously isn't hostile. It's just a divide in geography demographics of the student's origin.

I'm really not sure how to explain it. It's just... weird.
