My grandparents had well water... until they ran the city water out there. Tasted like absolute crap. Nasty. I guess it was hard? Never cared to know why... I just figured it tasted like... well water. I wouldn't drink it... I'd either bring a jug of our "city" water or, more likely, drink iced tea. Funny thing... my grandpop hated our water... he'd bring a big jug of well water to drink. Just what you get used to, I reckon.

They also had an actual well, with a rope and bucket, but didn't use it. Must have been before they got fancy with the pump well... I do remember them tell me to go out there and flip the lamp on in the winter at night... I was a kid and was scared of that pump house.... wasps lived in there.
