An 'old' SS Vaquero or Blackhawk in .357 is a heavy gun. Just something to consider.
Have you looked at one of the mid-frame Blackhawks in .44 Special? It is worth handling one before you make your final choice. Nice big bore that feels lively in the hand.

A super Blackhawk 5.5" is close 2nd though. I have a horrible itch for a .44
Scratched my itch today... but mine was for a cowboy .45 (sorry about my phone pic)
5 and a half Vaquero... now must resist the urge to toss a nickle, shoot and twirl.
I cocked the hammer to show what a one pound trigger on a pistol looks like for those who haven't seen one... I love the sound a pulled hammer makes.
