Or maybe not...

Many undocumented N. TX kids miss first immigration hearing

President Obama has said most of the undocumented children in the U.S. from Central America will not be allowed to stay. The process of deciding which ones will stay and which ones will go is often decided in court, but Tuesday, 18 of 20 undocumented children failed to show up to their first immigration hearing in Dallas federal court.
Paul Zoltan, an immigration attorney, does not think that the high number of no-shows is the beginning of a trend. “I think the notion that the children's arrival in violation of our laws means they are scofflaws, that they've simply blown off this hearing because they have no respect for America's laws, I think that's nonsense,” said Zoltan.
The judge could have issued immediate deportation orders as far as Tuesday’s no-shows are concerned, but he chose not to, and reset the hearing for next month.

Wanna bet if you look in on this again next month they still won't show? They should lock the attorney up til they do.

Do you mean the continued record deportations under Obama?

Paul Zoltan is either a fricking retard, or a liar.

You mean that extremely misleading claim?
quote:
But the portrait of a steadily increasing number of deportations rests on statistics that conceal almost as much as they disclose. A closer examination shows that immigrants living illegally in most of the continental U.S. are less likely to be deported today than before Obama came to office, according to immigration data.
Expulsions of people who are settled and working in the United States have fallen steadily since his first year in office, and are down more than 40% since 2009.
On the other side of the ledger, the number of people deported at or near the border has gone up — primarily as a result of changing who gets counted in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency's deportation statistics.
The vast majority of those border crossers would not have been treated as formal deportations under most previous administrations. If all removals were tallied, the total sent back to Mexico each year would have been far higher under those previous administrations than it is now.

Which has been shown to be a lie on this very forum.

This smacks of leftists' "record profits" arguments used against companies to exert government control. Profit margin ignored, of course.

did they change the way deportations are counted? Or is it being counted the same way it has for a few decades prior to Obama?

LINK
Those are just raw numbers which fail to account for the collapse of the American economy in 2008 which resulted a sharp decrease in illegal immigration and in fact resulted in a net-negative illegal immigration. Less people to deport. Also more resources were sent to the border which resulted in more border turn-backs resulting in less interior enforcement deportations.

The implication was that the lower raw number meant weak enforcement. But, yes, in raw numbers he hasn't deported "record numbers".
