If Harry Reid can lower it to 51, a Senate Republican leader can raise it to 70, or 80, or 90 -- or whatever he needs to make sure that Odummy doesn't make a single appointment during his last two years in office. And, unlike Dingy Harry's power grab, this will also apply to Supreme Court nominees.

That's one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. You essentially shut down the Senate if you raise it to an absurdly high number (remember, the nuclear option applies to more than just nominations).
And, if you have a majority, why do you need to change the rules to block confirmation? You. Just. Vote. No.
The nuclear option is USELESS as long differing parties hold the White House and the Senate.
