How is a wedding with free booze and free food and the game on any different than having a bunch of friends over to your house to drink, eat, and watch the game on TV?

I'm in agreement with this statement, as someone who generally likes going to weddings (for the aforementioned free booze and friend-seeing), but with the caveat that if you do end up saddled with a fall wedding date you can't hold it against anyone who wants to actually go to the game. Women are chemically unable to understand this, but "your day" is not the center of the universe. I'd never have a fall wedding anyway (even the GF is in agreement with that) but if for some reason I did, I couldn't be angry with anyone who wants to use their tickets. It'd be my dumb fault for having it, can't punish the innocents.

Our wedding was at 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 1983. Neither of us really seemed to care about the football games as the wedding event and being together that night. I had to check later about the football scores and was not really "up" about LSU football since the Tigers had lost the weekend before to FSU. Jerry Stovall was coach that year, and LSU football was not that big of a deal (LSU went 4 and 7 that year coming off an 8-3-1 season the year before). My wife was/is a Bama fan and Bama won 40-0 over Ole Miss. We have had 30 years since and a great marriage. My wife is "still the one" as in the song...

People go to road games.

We don't play on the east sites for 10+ years
