Watching LSU Opener in NO

Where is a good place to watch LSU play Wisconsin in NO? I'm hoping to avoid large sports bars, no Buffalo Wildwing joints, no packed out waiting an hour to get a beer type places. A somewhat low-key place to enjoy the game with other fans would be ideal. Smokey bars don't bother me and food is not a requirment. Just booze and a good time. Thanks for any advice.

I used to enjoy watching games at the Bulldog on Magazine. They put the audio from the TVs on the audio system. Pretty relaxed environment and you can get a good seat at the bar if you get there about 30 minutes before the game.

I meant to add that I will be staying in the French Quarter and will be searching for somewhere in walking distance.

Wit's Inn on Carrollton is oftentimes a good spot that's lesser known. Lots of TVs, a sufficient bar and decent food as well. Get their before game time and you shouldn't have trouble finding a decent table. Cooter Brown's is always packed on gamedays.

I've been told that Tracey's on Magazine is the official Wisconsin bar in NOLA.
So, anywhere but Tracey's.

Cooter Brown's. You can take the trolley there and back.

In that case, Walk Ons or take the Canal Streetcar line to MidCity to either Finn's or Bayou Beer Garden.

Also The District is a nice bar downtown that doesn't get too packed for sporting events

The Homedale Inn in Lakeview.....you would need a cab though. Not in walking distance obviously.
