uninstall the driver, and reinstall it? download the latest update from the manufacturer's website? can it connect wirelessly? does the laptop have any kind of malware on it?
wireless gives me the same error but says wireless instead of Ethernet

if you do not see any yellow ! do not uninstall anything, the drivers is working. If you see the ! uninstall that.
