He didn't even get the name Augustus until after that, hell he technically turned down positions of power after that (of course this was all a ploy for goodwill of citizens). He went by Princepts specifically bc he had total control after the civil war but he had seen what happens when you freely admit that. Hell he was technically a tribune at the start of his empirical reign, beneath the Consuls
