I never said international play is the most technical or more skillful than club play. I agree that club teams are much better than international squads. However, as a fan, I think most people are much more invested in how a national team plays. That's why I said it is the epitome of "fandom" not "ability" or "skill".

Your comments about club vs. international and which relies on the other to continue is silly. Of course international play would falter and likely die out without club play. If a country does not play a sport, how can it ever hope to field a national team? It would be like asking the UK to field an American football team. Of course it will suck because very few (if any) people in the country play the sport seriously.
