When did the palestinians move to the gaza strip, in 1949 when israel was created or sometime after?

Well, first off the term "Palestinian People" first came into use in the 1964 PLO charter. The term actually refers to Arabs who live in a certain area of the world. Palestine is a geographic territory not a race. In about 1,000 BC the territory of Palestine was actually a lot larger than just Israel and covered parts of modern day Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and I think Saudi Arabia.

Were they coerced to move there or was it by free choice that they separated from israel?

The people I think you are referring to fled to those areas to avoid the fighting in the war in 1948.

Did israel only gain control of gaza during the war with egypt/jordan in the 60's (70's maybe)?

Gaza was originally controlled by Egypt (1958-67) and then by Israel (1967-94) Israel granted self control after 1994.

The real mess is the "Palestinians" are out casts from everywhere in the region and Israel is the only country (Gaza is part of Israel) that allows them any type of autonomy. They are a people that are MOSTLY Muslim (though about 1% are Christian) and for the most part just want to live life.

There is no good end for Palestinians as long as the continue to be used as pawns by organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood (who are now in control) and the PLO.

Wrong, you're thinking of The Levant. Palestine was a term coined by the Romans in the late first century. Prior, the land of "Palestine" was Judea. After the Great Jewish Revolt of the late 1st century, the Romans exiled the defeated Jews from the territory and renamed it. However, the region was never ruled by "Palestinians". It was always a territory of another empire.
