Well I'm speaking to those border towns in SE AZ. Whether you dispute it or not, I've spoken to enough locals (born and raised here) who have gone to school with these people who tell me that's the case but I'm sure you're more of an expert on the subject than they are.

As to their individual experiences they are the experts, however, to the broader subject I do think I know a bit more. Let me ask you, do you consider the border towns of SE AZ to be home to "many" wealthy Mexicans?
