That was in WW1, and he was fired because of it.

Churchill ran wars like they were supposed to be run IMO, knowing people would die.

He was fired over that ordeal, but ended up enlisting in the Army and serving for the remainder of the war.

And while the Germans were bombin the shite out of England, he was out walking the streets with his people instead of hiding out in a bunker.

He wasn't perfect by any means, but he was a badass leader once he was given the chance.
