Yeah Rays sold a little low....

wonder if no one was biting and that was the best deal they could get as deadline neared so they panicked.... now teams are kicking themselves because they could have offered better

Really seems Cubs got the best haul for what they traded...

I've come around a bit on the trade. All these guys are locked in for a while. Smyly can be a mid rotation guy. Franklin is only 23 and he's hit well in the minors. If he can carry some of that over to the major league club, he'll be solid. Adames is 18 in single A and he's putting up some good numbers.

I don't think we would've gotten this much in the offseason. I think people are overreacting a bit.

Yeah, why not wait until the offseason if you are not getting a stud offer for Price? At that "Price", maybe I wish the Cubs made an offer.

The Cubs crushed the deadline.

The weirdest deal was the A's giving up Milone for a guy they already DFA'ed.

Story running around in Pittsburgh today is that the Pirates were first in line for him, but the Rays wanted Marte, top OF prospect Josh Bell (now that Polanco is called up), and one of their top pitching arms (Glasnow or Kingham or Taillon depending on the story). Pirates, who wouldn't be able to resign Price after next season, told them to go get f'd so they turned to the Tigers/Mariners offer.

Who knows.
