As long as you have the title and bill of sale, if the title does not have a spot for sale price and notary signature, you are good to register in LA. You do not have to register in Texas. If you have a notary in TX notarize the transaction you shouldn't need anything else. If a Louisiana Notary signs it, you will need a copy of previous owners driver's license to show proof of residence for previous owner. You pay taxes, registration and tag fees just like you bought it in LA. If you are buying from a dealer, they should take care of all of it. The instructions above is only for buying from individual.

Bump. I'm about to buy a used car in Texas and found this thread through Google. Anyone know if the quote below is accurate?
