FMILX. It has outperformed the market for nearly 10 years.
ETA: And having a good chunk in large caps is generally a good idea.

The new millennium fund is a nice fund. Fidelity is a good company, but they have so many damn funds to choose from. If you are just starting out and looking to get diversified, but don't have the initial capital to buy enough funds to do so, check out American Funds portfolio series. You can buy 4 funds at one time with the minimum purchase of just one fund LINK

No shite. I know. I think I’m going with the New Millennium. That the one I always come back to when Im looking at them. Until my wife starts working Im only going to be abe to put a couple hundred a month. So I figure a large growth fund to start is my best bet. Then Ill pick another one and in a few years another, and so on and so on. Thats the good thing with fidelity and maybe others I dont know. They let me do 200 a month without having to come up with 2500 to start.

I don't think Vanguard provides that option.

From what I understand they drop minimums to 1000 as long as you set up auto investments. I really like vanguard funds but I already have small, mid, and international vanguard funds in my 401k. I also have four vanguard funds in my childs 529. So I am pumped about having some fidelity funds in my Roth.
I just can't commit to a fund and its driving me crazy. It will be at least a year before I start investing in another fund so I want to be comfortable with the one I choose. Then I’ll be going through this indecisiveness all over again when it’s time to choose another

Not trying to beat a dead horse but turnover rates have no negative impact on funds held in a Roth
Correct??
So if i chose a fund with a 145 turnover rate it won't affect my gains in the roth?
Im not debating whether or not a high turnover fund is better than a low. Just if it results in diminished returns??

No shite. Already questioning it. About to start a "what to do when you want to change funds in roth" thread, followed by another "what fund to pick in roth thread"
Just kidding. Im pretty stoked about this one

You just log in and transfer your money to a different fund. It's very easy :p

I'm loooking at these funds as well. What was your reasoning for picking that one?

The turnover rate looks like it is right about where I want it to be. An active fund but not crazy active. The expenses are low. Also there is something appealing to me about getting into a fairly new fund. Again i am pretty new to this but those are my reasons. I looked at the other funds under the same management and looks like its a pretty good track record
